One of the great things about the internets is that you get to meet really interesting people and make great friends no matter where you are. And a couple of awesome people I've met and became very fond buddies of are these two weirdos: and .
If you don't know who these guys are, then you're missing a huge chunk of protein in your webcomic diet! These guys are responsible for the awesomest fantasy webcomic called Fantasy Realms [link] Relying on good old solid storytelling (no cheezy shipping!) and cutting edge art, Fantasy Realms has kept me green with envy for years that it actually has motivated this lazy clown to get off his lazy inflated butt and get his act together. Then I met these two guys online in a webcomic site called wirepop [link] and things started going downhill from that point onwards. And I didn't realize that going downhill so fast could be so much fun so what the heck! Let's roll!
So to show my appreciation (under threats of great pain and it's about time anyway), here's a little something I did as a gift to these awesome comic duo. I hope you guys keep rocking my world for a long long time.
Please download for bigger, better version. LOL

EDIT: I've finally edited giant Rico in the pic and now he's pretty much your average normal-sized slacker paladin wannabe You can still see his old gargantuan bulk by clicking the uncolored version link.
I love how you captured a spark of each character's personality -- Shiva standing off on her own, looking out into the lonesome desert; Rico taking a break in the shade; Landra mothering Ledin, peeling an apple for him; Calais watching over the whole scene. I love Ledin's adorable expression and the way he looks as if he's concerned about his pet frog falling off his head. Really cute.
Your attention to detail is extraordinary. It's pure joy to scan this illustration and discover something new every time.
The background turned out awesome! I especially like the texture on the wall Rico is sitting on. As I told you before, I admire your knack for creative scenery. Everything looks so natural and alive! Well, worn down in this case. A water wheel in the middle of the desert -- makes you wonder about how this place used to look, back when the building was still standing, the river bed hadn't dried out yet, and maybe folks working or little children playing. It's a somewhat melancholy scene, despite the happiness in the faces of the two focal characters.
This is a beautiful illustration, and you have no idea how happy it made me.
To follow-up Niko's comment extensively would be an exercise in redundancy, so I'll leave it at this: This picture has given me such intense inspiration to write Fantasy Realms. It's a wonderful work.
I hardly ever see Fantasy Realms fanart! Gorgeous view, I love the feeling of distance. The half-finished mill and dry riverbed make for a great background. I like Rico's lazy pose, and how Shiva's just standing alone. The colours are sharp too. Fantastic work!

I like it! I might just check the webcomic out.
